Carve Out Carbs

Thinking of going on a diet that's not only low carb, it's practically no carb? It's not a decision to be made lightly. After all, it's a well-known fact that if you don't stick with a low carb diet (or any other diet, for that matter) you tend to gain back any weight you lost in the first place--and then some!

Carve Out Carbs the Right Way!
On the pages of Carve Out Carbs, we explain the good and bad points of a low or no carb diet. We've even got a few low carb recipes. But before you decide to Carve Out Carbs for good, make sure you know what the side effects are--both short and long term. For instance, grumpiness due to lack of serotonin as well as ketosis and the ensuing bad breath that goes with ketosis are both short-term side effects, but long-term you could run the risk of kidney damage, heart disease, osteoporosis and possibly even cancer.

And don't try to Carve Out Carbs while you're pregnant--you could cause your unborn child to have brain damage or to be mentally retarded. It's better to Carve Out Carbs when you're pregnant by making healthier carb choices, like more fruits and vegetables, whole grain or whole wheat breads, pastas, rices and cereals, beans and legumes, and plenty of low fat or nonfat dairy. You may be trying to reverse a lifetime of enjoying carbs, but your baby needs these nutrients right now for development and growth.

Bottom line: If you want to cut back on carbs, that's fine. But don't Carve Out Carbs completely. You can include healthy carbs (like the ones listed above) in your diet and still lose weight. Everything in moderation!

Carbs have become the talk of the dietary world in the last few years. People who are on low carb or no carb diets seem to have a lot of success in a short amount of time, so more and more people are counting carbs--for better or worse.
