Low Carbs Plans

Which low carbs plans have you investigated as part of finding your low carb diet? There are a lot out there! Our advice is to find the least restrictive one possible.

A Sea of Low Carb Diets
There are so many low carbs plans out there it's hard to sift through which ones are the best. Chances are you haven't even heard of most of them. Obviously, there's the Atkins diet and the South Beach diet. In fact, those are probably the two most well-known low carbs plans. But there's also Sugarbusters, Neanderthin and Protein Power, just to name a few others. Before you choose one (if you choose one) be sure you take the time to research each one. Also, do yourself the favor of keeping track of your current carb intake for a few days. This will require you to read labels and maybe look up the carb counts of certain foods on the Internet, but you'll have to do that anyway if you decide to start a low carb diet. If you eat 250 grams of carbs a day right now, it might be hard for you to cut back to just 20 a day during the first phase. Even the next phase of 40-60 grams a day can be a challenge. The final phase for most low carb diets allows 100-130 grams a day, which still isn't enough, especially since our bodies need 130 grams of carbs a day.

When looking at the various low carbs plans, you'll notice that some are less restrictive than others. On these low carbs plans, it will take you longer to lose weight. But if you only lose 1-2 pounds a week, chances are it will be easier to keep the weight off once you lose it. Not only that, but you'll be healthier in the process!
